These landmarks can include iconic places, like the Empire State Building in New York and the Pantheon in Rome, and easily recognizable places, like local parks and tourist attractions. Live View will show you how far away certain landmarks are from you and what direction you need to go to get there. Google will now overlay nearby landmarks to let you “quickly and easily orient yourself and understand your surroundings.” Outside of walking directions, Live View today lets you see how far away and in what direction a location is. The feature is getting a number of big updates today. But, in most instances, this won't be an issue for most.Google Maps Live View uses augmented reality to overlay arrows, directions, and now landmarks over the real world to make navigating easier. But there will be exceptions: places excluded by the service, or places too newly constructed to have been assumed into Google's systems. So can you view your house on Google Earth? The quick answer is yes, of course. Useful for gleaning house numbers on specific buildings, as and when useful. You can navigate between shots using the directional arrows, click-and-drag to get a better view, or hit the '+' symbol to zoom in. These Street View images are taken from one of the many Google cars that have driven around millions of miles of the world's streets. That street will light up blue and, once you release the mouse, you'll then be taken in by another animation taking you to street level.
